In staggering contrast to the razed forest north of the dam, this fern
covered trail is lush with greenery.  The pines that line the path are
hearty and old, the flowers thick and colorful.  Chipmunks and other
wildlife scurry through the rich flora, while birds sing from within the
dense canopy of branches.  To the west, sounds of an enormous splash can be
heard but nothing can be seen of the cause of the noise.  It is easy to muse
that an ogre has fallen in the lake, unless of course one happens to be an
ogre.
