This is the threshold of the mysterious Cavhfail Keep.  Large obsidian
gargoyles flank the passage here, their blank stares setting you ill at
ease.  Recessed torches create beams of light that reveal little, creating
eerie shadows on the walls.  The high arched ceiling is made of a very dark
stone, as are the walls and the floor.  The passages to the northwest and
northeast lead deeper into the keep, while the Keep wall is to the south.  
Gilcrest, the head sentry, guards the entrance with somber eyes.
'Ye think ye be entering?' Gilcrest, the head sentry asks you. 'Begone!'
