Several recesses for candles and fine tapestry line this hallway and your
steps echo along the flagstones underfoot.  However dirty and sooty such
corridors always seem to be, this one is an exception.  The candlelight is
not bright, but it is apparent that this hallway is not just frequently
dusted and swept, but actually scrubbed.  To the southeast a velvety curtain
is draped across a doorway, and the corridor continues to the north.  On the
east wall is a stout door with 'Van Pelt' engraved with an elegant, gilded
script.
