This portion of the valley is quite narrow, possibly a clue that it opens
up a great deal further on.  The thin path is absolutely covered with
garbage, ranging from rotting food to rusted out pieces of metal.  Because
of the stability offered by the materials underfoot, the ground doesn't give
much with each step.  However, walking does force stale, moldy air out from
the air pockets between pieces, leaving a putrid smell in the air.  To the
southeast is the processing yard, while through the valley to the north is
the residential area.  
A combination fly-cockroach flutters here, its carapace jaundiced and pale.
