The clearing that contains the processing yard looks like an enormous
crater in the landscape; a crater that is growing daily with the continuous
excavation of waste to be sifted through.  Sifting and sorting bins can be
seen in varying locations, each with its own assortment of throwbacks and
keepers.  Several workers pore over the piles, dumping the useless
byproducts into an ever growing compost pile.  The yard extends in all
directions eastward, and the valley to the west leads toward the rest of
towne.  
A combination fly-cockroach flutters here, its carapace jaundiced and pale.
