The light in this room is magical in nature and flickers at an incredible
pace, making it hard to notice what lies in the room.  The first thing you
see is a silver gate to the northeast, but you can see no more beyond that. 
The eerie silence is broken by a faint rattling sounding somewhat like a
snake.  The stairs lead back up towards the northwest and to a gate to the
northeast.  

A deep purple snake looms several feet above you.
