Western Branch of the Atrium - - - (-------------------------------------------------) W <---(M)---> E - - - The colored tiles below you are fairly elaborate designs, tilework at its most brilliant. Beautifully adjusted to the shape of the room, the design of the spiraling tendrils is at once rich and subtle, enveloping the walls to your north and south. Unlike the other floor mosaics you have seen here, this one is not in good condition, a number of pieces are missing and a four foot square portion appears to be incorrectly placed. The wall of a triclinium building can been seen to your north, and the tall palace walls are to your south. The atrium branch continues to your east and west. The sliced-off arm of a Diocletian commoner is lying here. The sliced-off leg of a Diocletian commoner is lying here. A sneaky slave trader is here looking for potential buyers.
