The Baths Of Diocletian NW N NE (-------------------------------------------------) W <---(M)---> # - S - This bathhouse covers a good portion of the palace courtyard, and dwarfs the size of the typical bathing establishments you have seen. You see three sets of baths to your north, hot, warm, and cold, respectively the caldarium, tepidarium, and frigidarium. You estimate that hundreds of people could be accommodated in the natatio pools to your northwest and northeast. Water is supplied by a branch of one of the palace's major aqueducts, and heating is provided by furnaces located through hollow floors and walls throughout the complex. Through the exit to your south you can see the traffic of merchants wandering through the Atrium.
