A narrow stone walkway comes to a 'T' intersection here.  To the east is
a bridge leading across the molten pit below.  To the north and south the
path continues to form its crescent shape around the pit.  At either end a
type of chain lift is visible lifting large smelting buckets out of the pit
and back into it at the other end.
