On continuing down this road you begin to see how modern and new parts of
this towne are.  New, burnished brick buildings rise either side of you with
bright flowers in window-boxes and faux-weather beaten signs swinging back
and forth.  The sound of merriment and the clatter of dishes come from the
main square as off-duty miners enjoy a brief respite from their demanding
vocation.  No matter how the area is dressed up, though, it still looks
quite tacky.  
Something that looks like a bald-headed monkey twitches as you approach.
