A single trail of footprints lead from the water's edge and split off
into all directions from here.  The air grows intensely colder on this
stretch of beach as does the sensation of ill that sinks into one's bones. 
Off to the south across the horizon the sound of a ship's bell can be heard
invoking questions of just what may lie within the ocean's dark embrace. 
The sound of rowing oars grows closer through the black vapors that loiter
over the sea, as does the occasional rumbling of thunder.
