A large twin stairway runs between the upper aftcastle and the
quarterdeck.  It is unlike any you have ever seen on a ship before.  The
stair provides ample room to move between the decks and is lined with a rich
red carpet.  The railings are of a thick mahogany wood with rounded
bannisters and eagleheads sculpted at the base.  Functional for a ship this
size, it is just one more testament to the verbose design of this pseudo-
warship.  At this juncture, the stairway splits into two branches, going
east and west.  A small railing stands overlooking the main deck, and down
below an alcove runs underneath towards the officer's quarters.
