The area appears like the bottom of a lake with all of the water drained
away.  Broken remnants of beached ships and dead fish litter the landscape. 
Splinters of ancient wrecks are piled in great mounds and lay half sunken
into a murky field of slush.  The dark half-melt of snow obscures the paths
that any survivors may have made while abandoning these desolate vessels. 
The number and diversity of ships is staggering while a quick scan will
reveal names of vessels whose disappearances have become legendary.  
A youngster with arms extended runs about playfully making buzzing noises.
