The heat is intense the deeper you go into these caverns.  The water is
thick with microscopic plant life living off of the warm conditions and
apparently the green glow is enough to support photosynthesis.  Whatever the
source of the light, it must be massive to illuminate the caverns so well. 
Occasional scraps of cloth litter the water and along the base of the tunnel
lie what crude farming implements including something that resembles a horse
collar only smaller.
