This appears to be the fort's supply storage.  Many barrels are stacked
neatly here, probably containing rations and drink for those stationed here.
A few crates can be made out in the gloom to the south and more barrels are
faintly visible to the east.  Light can be seen to the west, coming down the
stairs that lead back up into the fort.  
A rather pale looking spider scurries along the ground towards you.
