The lobby of the second library floor takes a look at the kinds of media
used to transmit knowledge.  On the northern wall, encased in glass, are
specimens of various writing materials.  A nearly translucent skin of vellum
hangs between a crisp sheet of pale vellum and a thin fibrous mat of
papyrus.  On the other walls are displayed ancient and modern writing
instruments, including a chisel, a stylus, a brush, and several quills.
