This lance used to be quite a bit of work, a lance with a vertical spike,
almost like a polearm, used by its wielder to steal someone's purse or
luggage, and then jab the victim in the thigh to prevent them from chasing.
It comes complete with a gold-seeking enchantment, that subtly directs it
towards riches, which is the remaining bit of interest on it after the
extraneous spike broke off.  It's no longer good for picking pockets in the
most conspicuous way possible, but its enchantment probably leaves it good
for other things.
