Long abandoned, this section of the strip mine is no longer worth mining,
so the giants now concentrate their efforts farther in.  Little effort has
been made to clean this section up, however, and large piles of refuse
litter the area.  Steep walls prevent any movement out of the mine, save
following the valley back to the southwest.  The pit expands out to the
north, northeast, and east.
