Long abandoned, this section of the strip mine is no longer worth mining,
so the giants now concentrate their efforts farther in.  Little effort has
been made to clean this section up, however, and large piles of refuse
litter the area.  Steep walls prevent any movement out of the mine, save
following the valley deeper into the mine to the northeast and east.  The
pit expands out to the south, southwest, and west.  The sounds of mining
drift in from the east.
