The grand foyer to the mansion has a most intimidating formality.  In the
face of the gloved butler asking for your coat and hat you find yourself
checking if your fingernails are clean and wishing you'd worn better
clothes.  West the hall to the remainder of the public portion of the house
while the private quarters are east.  
The butler looks down his nose at you, judging if you should be allowed in.
