Rumors of double-dealing and funny business within the town government
has reached me. Frankly I am shocked and unsure how to best resolve this
matter. When I went into the treasurer's office today to consult with him
regarding the rumors, I found that he wasn't there. When I happened to
glance at his desk on my way out, I noticed that there were two accounting
books on his desk. He should only have one, so I went over and saw a list
of transactions with the costs. In the other book, he had the same
transactions, but with nearly double the cost! I think that he and the
banker are pocketing the difference. If only I had proof! I need someone
with a low profile, such as you, that can do my investigating for me. Just
get the proof needed and confront the treasurer with it. Something as big
as this is sure to have a Humphrey involved as well so check out that
